Add Olaplex to your next color or chemical hair process to strengthen and repair existing damage as well as prevent further damage.
Olaplex is both a repairing and preventative hair treatment. It is commonly referred to as “insurance for the hair”. It helps stop the damage that the process of coloring your hair can cause. “It has been total game changer, we have been able to perform color process that we never have been able to do before without damaging the hair” says Sharon Smith the owner of Triniti Salon in Cary NC. Sharon has been using it at Triniti Salon in Cary, NC for years and has seen great results and some outright miracles!
Why Sharon Loves Olaplex
The most exciting thing about Olaplex is that we are able to achieve results with color that we never could have before. We can do much more and make bigger changes in less time without compromising the integrity of the hair. Adding olapex to your highlight, balayage or all over color treatment supports the hair taking the color without the chemical damage that can be caused. The other aspect of olaplex that has had a huge impact in our industry is its ability to repair the hair from the inside out. Prior to olaplex the best we could do was add a conditioner which would leave the hair feeling great, but was only a surface fix. Another exciting thing about Olaplex that Sharon loves is that it is free of sulfates, gluten, silicone, phthalates, DEA, aldehydes, best of all it is never tested on animals unless they are having issues with split ends or they have an urge to go platinum blonde!
How does Olaplex it work you ask?
Salon industry professionals call Olaplex hair insurance because of its ability to reconnect broken disulfide sulfur bonds in the hair. “Hair bonds are broken during thermal, mechanical and chemical services. It helps return or restore the hair to the condition it was before the hair was colored. Olaplex is also a conditioner. Sharon suggests using Olaplex after every chemical service or every six weeks. For more detailed information the Olaplex website has a lot of great technical information on the product and how it works. As with anything in life there are limits, and your Triniti Salon Stylist knows how far to push your hair without causing damage.

“It has been a total game changer, we have been able to perform color process that we never have been able to do before” says Sharon Smith the owner of Triniti Salon
Can anyone benefit from using Olaplex?
There is not one person that we not recommend olaplex to. (Well, bald men will not see the kind of results we are describing here.) It is not just for people who color their hair. Everything from blow drying, flat ironing, culling your hair or just sitting by the pool sipping a margarita can damage your hair. Well… not the margarita of course, but having fun in the sun can severely damage your hair. You should know that if your hair is already badly damaged, we are not saying that we can take you from a deep chocolate brunette to a blonde. At Triniti Salon the integrity of the hair is extremely important to us. Olaplex or not, a Triniti Stylist will not push the integrity of your hair if it is already compromised.
How is it used?
At the salon your stylist will add Olaplex 1. Bond Multiplier directly to your color or lightener, and finish by applying Olaplex 2. Bond Perfector after the color is rinsed to reduce damage and breakage. You will also be sent home with the third step. The Hair Perfector No 3. It is to be used once a week to further strengthen your hair or as a treatment before color and chemical treatments. It is simple to use and ensures that you will have lasting results.
AT HOME: First, Shampoo your hair thoroughly with the Surface Shampoo that suites your hair type. They don’t have sulfites, paraben, gluten and build-up such as oils, silicons, and other harmful chemicals. Apply a generous amount to towel-dried hair and comb through. Leave on for a minimum of 10 minutes. The longer it’s on, the more effective it is in doing its job particularly for hair that is compromised or damaged. We highly recommend leaving in on your hair for 30 to 90 minutes. After you have waited as long as you can… Rinse, shampoo, condition with your favorite Surface Conditioner. Keep in mind that Olaplex is not a conditioning treatment and should not be use as a conditioning treatment. Think of it as a hair strengthener to be used between salon visits. If you have dry or curly hair, be sure to ask your stylist which Surface conditioning treatment is right for you.

How much does it cost? Is it worth it?
When considering adding an Olaplex treatment to your beauty budget cost is an important question. It is a question of value as much as a question of cost. Yes absolutely is the quick answer. Is it worth the cost? The cost for an Olaplex treatment that includes the take home product is approximately $50.00. It is highly recommended as mentioned it repairs damaged hair as well as allowing chemical services to have their full effect, and aids in preventing damage happening from color and chemical treatments. It works very well with keratin smoothing treatments as well. Olaplex seals and smooths the hair cuticle leaving the hair prepped and strengthened. As with anything else, ask your stylist for their professional recommendation to see if it is right for you. You wont be sorry!!

This month we are calling on the TRIBE to support our canine soldiers. The Triniti Tribe is honored to highlight these 4 legged warriors, and the US War Dog Association. This is a group of committed individuals and volunteers that provide training, education, much needed resources, and care for the veteran war dogs. The best way we can support this organization is thru simple financial support, as well as everyday items that the dogs and combat handlers need. We are asking the Triniti Tribe to bring in treats, toys, and a host of items that can be found on the list at the end of this blog.
The United States War Dogs Association, Inc. is a nonprofit organization of Former and Current US Military Dog Handlers and supporting members committed to promoting the long history of the Military Service Dogs, establishing permanent War Dog Memorials, and educating the public about the invaluable service of these canines to our country.
The organizations background in military War Dog service and their dedication to honoring the memory of the service and sacrifice of the US Military Working Dogs gives a unique perspective that can be use to educate the public on the history of Military War Dogs.

Which color process is best for me ?
When it comes to hair color, you basically have 3 main options – highlighting, single-process color or double process. But which one is best for you? Here are a few tips to help you sort out the best color option for your hair and the look you are after. There are so many variations and combinations of the different hair color techniques, with the right stylist, you are sure to get the look you love. In this article we will break down the different techniques and answer the most asked questions and relieve some anxiety over which is right for you. You can also check out our Lookbook at the end of this article to get a better idea of what each color process looks like.

Do you want to cover gray? Add accent highlights to bring out your complexion or accentuate your eye color? Let your cheek bones stand out or slim your face with some beautifully placed babylights? If you are unsure about which color is right for you – check out our article on selecting the right color for your skin tone.
Single Process – All over Color Process
If you have a great natural base color, you’re better off with highlights. You don’t want to mess with nature; what you want to do is enhance it. If you do want to go several shades darker than your natural color or cover gray, then you would opt for a single process color. One thing to consider is single process color needs to be touched up every 3 – 6 weeks, while highlights last 6 – 12 weeks. The bright side is that a single process hair color costs much less.
Single Process Color Cost – $30 – $100
Highlighting
Foil Highlights and Foil Lowlights:
Foil highlights are the most traditional and universal of the highlighting methods. Foil highlights add strands of color to your hair. You can achieve multiple shades to create dimension, and for a more natural look that will be sure to brighten your complexion. The foils separate hair that is to be highlighted from hair that will remain its natural color. I personally love foil highlighting because …..
Lowlights are the opposite of highlights. Instead of lifting the color of the hair a few shades, stylists
will use the same foil method to take strategically placed strands a few shades darker than the natural base color to achieve a softer, darker color. If you feel your hair has too much of one color, then it’s time for some lowlighting.
Lowlights are a great color technique if you want to add some rich dimension, depth or the appearance of thicker hair while creating a more natural-looking blend.
Highlights or Lowlights Cost –
Full vs. Partial
OK, you know what type of highlights you want, now how much? Partial highlights are generally placed around the face for a brightening or framing effect, while full gets you just that — your full head highlighted. “If your hair — including the back — is dark, you will need full highlights. If it hasn’t been that long since your last highlighting service, or if your hair, especially the back, isn’t that dark, then a partial may be best.
Still not sure where you land? As general recommendation is to do a partial at one visit, and a full on the next. It’s a good rule of thumb and easier and better for the pocketbook to alternate.
Cost:
Balayage
Balayage, or “hand painting,” the stylist will add natural ribbons of color to hair in large or smaller sections of hair. This is best for women with a great base color who want to go just a couple shades lighter. Balayage will give you a natural looking hair color, and you won’t need to get roots touched up as much with balayage as you do foils.
Can you rewrite this …. I am not 100%. I want to briefly discuss the technique look and feel of Balayage. The Balayage pieces should be very close and soft at the root leading to a thicker highlight at the ends of the hair. Balayage should be applied on the surface of the section and not saturated through the section until the very tips, otherwise you would have a streak of colour that isn’t vey soft at all.
Cost:
Ombre & Sombre
“Ombre, in hair color terms, refers to a gradual change in color from dark to light or light to dark with no transition line. Say something about the technique and expected look…
Sombre is the exact same thing as ombré hair color, except using a softer color contrast. The term “sombre” comes from the words “soft ombré” put together.
Cost:
Glossing Treatment
Are you looking to add shine and softness to your hair? Is your hair prone to damage or dryness. Want to get rid of those flyaways? A glossing treatment will boost your color and give you crazy shine. Also referred to as a Glaze or Glazing Treatment is not permanent and cost less than a highlight, balayage or all-over permanent color.
There are 2 types of Gloss Treatments. One is clear, and the other is tinted. Tinted treatments can help maintain your color and enhance it. Tinted options vary from a bright blond to cancel out brassiness or gold to bring out warmth. On darker hair it would be tinted to brown or red hues to bring out the warmth of darker shades. While glossing treatments are not a alternative to color, they refresh and enhance your hair color. This may be perfect for you if you are new to coloring your hair and you want more shine and a touch of color.
Gloss treatments usually last about three to five weeks before washing/fading out.
Cost: $30 – $50
Book a Consultation
We always recommend getting a hair color consultation if you aren’t sure what you want. Bring along pictures of hair color you like or want to achieve. Your Triniti Salon colorist will know what to do and will be able to find the right shades of color to flatter your skin tone.
During your consult, be sure to mention any other hair processing you’ve had done. You don’t want to over process your hair. Store bought or “box” color can have chemical reactions with Salon Professional Hair Color.
Cost: Complimentary at Triniti Salon
If you have any questions call Triniti Salon to schedule your complimentary consultation, send us a current photo and check out our look book to find the color and style you are looking for and we can give you an idea of the type of appointment you are looking for. Highlights? Ombre’? Balayage?

]]>There are lots of great reasons to compost. Save money, save resources, improve the nutrient richness of the soil, and reduce your impact on the environment. Regardless of your reasons, composting is a win/win scenario. Good for you and good for the environment.

We can see a future where every business does its part in composting and reducing the amount of waste sent to our landfills.

Check out Compost Now. We use them here in the salon. They pick up every week and turn our scraps into amazing rich soil that we donate to local community gardens. This year so far we have diverted approximately 401 lbs of food scraps in our composting. This will produce 100 lbs of rich compost, and avoid releasing 52 lbs of methane at the landfill. We have sent in for recycling approximately 75 lbs of color and almost 300 lbs of aluminum from foils and color tubes, along with 70 lbs of hair trimmings.

]]>Triniti Salon will be collecting diapers and children’s books this month! This is another great way to join The Tribe in Community Service! Our goal is to generate 2000 diapers by the end of the month!
We are thrilled to partner with another fantastic organization that supports our local babies. The Diaper Train provides diapers to low-income families in Wake County, improving the lives of babies and toddlers. The program is run by volunteers and serves 1,000 children each month. This month Triniti Salon joins several churches, businesses, schools and civic groups to collect diapers, baby wipes and children’s books.

One in three moms has struggled to pay for diapers, according to a new study. Eight percent say they’ve tried to make them last longer by leaving a wet diaper on their child or trying to clean and reuse it
The Diaper Train needs diapers in all sizes and baby wipes. You can also bring gently used books for ages 0-6, as families visiting The Diaper Train may select books to take home for each child.
Donations from diaper drives are essential to The Diaper Train’s ability to serve thousands of babies each year.
